Your Beautiful Projects of 2011

December 28, 2011

The Artisania Patterns Gallery Group on Flickr is a constant source of joy for me. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy and sunshiny I feel inside when I see a project made using one of my patterns!

It might seem silly to say, but even the smallest and quickest little project someone may whip up on a whim, completely validates my work. You’re really the reason I do this.

Yes, I am trying to somehow make a living here, doing something I absolutely love,

but at the end of the day it’s so much more important for me to see your happiness and satisfaction.

Whenever someone emails me that one of my patterns, or video tutorials helped them learn how to paper piece I literally do a happy dance. I’m not kidding!

Hi Sonja!
I just wanted to let you know that I used your Lil Fox Pattern to make a mini-quilt for a friend’s holiday gift and she loved it! It is such a cute pattern and it was my first time paper-piecing. So thank you for helping me to get over that sewing hurdle. 🙂

I also wanted to let you know my purchase went smooth and worked fine.

Have a great holiday!

Jeanne

I cried when Theresa emailed me about the memory quilt she made of her cat with my Oto pattern.

In Memory of My Kitty, Murphy

Dear Sonja,

Attached is a picture of my quilted version of your Scottish Fold quilt pattern. I made this in memory of my Scottish Fold kitty, Murphy; then put it in a frame. You may notice the black on the head stops above the eyes, rather than down past; I modified the pattern, so it was true to my kitty.

Anyway, I thought you would enjoy seeing your pattern finished in another style. And again, thank you so much for creating this pattern; I love it! Now, I just need a pattern for a Labrador, so I can do a framed picture of our dog…LOL

Sincerely,

Theresa

oh here I go again *tears* I passed this link on to Theresa, it’s to the Canine patterns page at Silver Linings Originals. Good gravy her patterns are out of this world!

Remember how excited I was when I was finally published in Quiltmaker for the first time ever? Then you can just imagine how bowled over I was when I saw this beauty pop up in the Flickr group:
Be still my heart… Jenny made one and blogged about it and everything!
Her inspiration photo is so darling I could cry again:

Elaine made one helluva scary version of Mumford the Mummy.. who knew batiks could be this scary?
And then Sandy appliqued a Mumford for the same Mug Rug Swap..
Jennifer from All Things Belle whipped up an Easy Peeping Owl and posted a really great review on her blog:
We’ve had more adorable mushroom and hedgehog sightings too! Michele made this cutie pie:

Krom Mama was back at it with her fabulous shrooms:
I spied a teeny Gnomelette and mushroom in this super charming batch of blocks for Krista.

Oh my, you are such an inspiration. Just look at all the goodness from your awesome patterns. My hedgie mushroom quilt was donated to AAQI to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. Look, Carol Doak posed in front of it: http://nostalgiccafe.blogspot.com/2011/11/chilly-and-chili.html Thank you for all you do.
