…and with me as, I pull together a palette a little outside of my usual..

I’m in a personal swap with someone AMAZING.  Her work has a strong country bend and  tends to involve a lot of color combos I wouldn’t  usually consider. But when I see the stuff she makes (and gets published) I find myself coveting . everysinglething . Oh mama, this girl is talented!

I mucked around for about an hour yesterday, and somehow I still get the feeling I need to add a nice rich rust or bark color in there somewhere…

I do think my button choices work. I particularly love the wooden ones that look like lovely little loaves sourdough. I found them in my great aunt’s sewing box. I’m going to guess they’re from the 60’s or so.

I love the ribbon section at Daiso..

Fortunately I think I’ve figured out a couple of things she hasn’t already designed, created and perfected so hopefully this project will go nice and smoothly. *fingers crossed*

Oh! Be sure to check back tomorrow as it’s my day for the Quiltmakers blog tour!
