The VMQG Has New Digs!
January 18, 2012
Yep, my beloved Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild has outgrown the capacity of the Spool of Thread, and is now holding our monthly nights of laughter and good times at Langara College in Vancouver.
(where the horrible lighting presents a big challenge for me to overcome this year…. *whimper*)
Here are some shots I snagged at our December meeting:
Wanna see some more shots from that night? You really should come on down and join us!
And make sure to check out our member spotlight – Janet was our first guinea pig, and it’s neat learning more about her amazing talent.
Her Flickr handle is “what comes next” and she’s got some mad skills I tell ya!

Really enjoyed this post! What a great group of talented people you have there. Thanks for sharing the fun photos!!
Just a little “small world” comment, but my upstairs neighbour is the sister of the owner of Spool of Thread
Guinea pig huh? lol! Looks like I missed a great meeting in December – love that group shot! More fun and merriment tomorrow night, see you there.
Thanks for the post. You are right about the lighting. You’ll have to pull something out of your bag of tricks!

Hey who were to two turkeys that covered their faces with their pot holders?
Great post, Sonja! I’m always inspired by the talent in our guild and I love the photos you share with us that record those amazing quilts.
Nice! Our quilt guild just had Jane Sassaman as a program/teacher and it was awesome! We have over 200 members and I get lost in the crowd! That was a great post- loved seeing all the young and happy faces as well as the quilts!!!
