Introducing Big Bob the Robot!
Oh sweet begeebus has he been a long time coming. I’m quite sure I designed his pattern last year, along with *ahem* a bunch of others!
Even though I’m busier than ever with my design work, I’ve been sitting on too many patterns for too long.
His 10 page PDF pattern comes with several new features including:
- Improved pattern design with seam allowance markings, mini step by step instructions, and more labeling overall.
- A nicer layout and presentation. I figured I really should put my photography skills to good use!
- And full step by step instructions, including a page dedicated to a Basic Paper Piecing Tutorial complete with hopefully easy to understand graphics.
I’ve added that page to my Tutorials tab which sits directly underneath all the video tutorials. It’s a free download for anyone who wants to learn how to paper piece. Nifty right?
My friend and amazingly talented sewist Amy, offered to test his pattern for me and let me take him on a photo shoot during our last VMQG retreat. I think he’s particularly heroic here..
Here’s the breakdown on Big Bob:
And he’s now up for sale in my Pattern Shop and on Etsy for a nice cool $5.00
*phew*
Thanks so so much for hanging in there patiently waiting for new patterns. I know it’s been awhile!

Another winner, Sonja! He’s sure a cutie.

Well, you’ve done it again, lovely robot and in two versions. Cool heh and he’s Canadian!

Hi Sonja,
Since I cannot find an email address, I will comment here. I was reading about your problem with clipping circles on your leaf/flower mug rug post. Have you tried using pinking shears instead of clipping the seam allowance? It may work better and may lie flatter.
Thanks Dolores! Yeah, I think you may have hit the nail on the head
Maybe Santa will be good to me this year?
Carli! I’ve been stalking your blog lately for monster progress shots…
Thanks kd!
